The national traffic signal specification has been produced by members of the National Signals Committee and the Signals New Zealand User Group (SNUG) and includes input from representatives of the traffic signal industry.
It is the combination of several specifications from the larger cities and brings together the best practice and procedures currently in use throughout the country. Users of this specification must ascertain for themselves that it represents the requirements of their clients or Road Controlling Authority.
This specification should not be altered for individual contracts, but necessary amendments should be appended as special clauses.
Industry members are encouraged to suggest amendments to the specification. Please forward your suggestions to the
group administrator.
