- Dam Safety Scheme Review
The Society submission can be viewed here. There has been discussion about Recommendation 19/31 proposing a bi-annual (i.e. 6monthly) inspection. It appears that what is meant is bi – ennial ( i.e. 2 yearly and that is certainly the Society’s preference.
The Society was invited by DBH to join RAWG ( Regional Authorities Working Group) and some others for discussion on the submissions. We await the outcomes.

Papers on:
- Consultation on the Dam Safety Scheme
The Department of Building and Housing has had a review undertaken of the Dam Safety Scheme. It is now seeking submissions on the recommendations of that review. NZSOLD has been in discussion with DBH throughout the process and will be making a submission on behalf of its members. NZSOLD encourages all its members to also make individual submissions. The document below provides some links to a DBH discussion document and a submission form. If you have specific things that you wish to have NZSOLD consider in developing its submission you should provide that information to me by 31 July. The Management Committee of NZSOLD will be trying to represent the views of all of its members, however it is not always possible to cover everyone’s views and that is why we encourage individual submissions.
For information on the process please go to http://www.dbh.govt.nz/dam-safety-scheme-consultation.
Note : Submissions close on 14 August
