URBAN DESIGNThe IPENZ Transportation Group was a founding signatory to the Urban Design Protocol in March 2005. Many of our members work for organisations who are also signatories to the Protocol, as are professional groups representing architects, landscape architects, planners and surveyors. The Protocol and further details are available on the Ministry for the Environment's website at:http://www.mfe.govt.nz/issues/urban/design-protocol/index.html All our members are encouraged to be involved in the development of the TG's Urban Design Action Plan (download here). There is also a chat group that you can join, run by Wes Edwards: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ipenz_urban_design/ Here is a 3Mb presentation on urban design given at the IPENZ Transportation Conference in Queenstown in October 2006. Here is the 3.7Mb 34 slide presentation by Peter Spies (Transit NZ) and Carron Blom (Beca) on urban design recently presented to the Auckland Branch.
