The NZ Modelling User Group (NZMugs) is a sub-group of the IPENZ Transportation Group dedicated to promote the interests of modelling within the transportation industry in NZ. It is the intention that the group will represent all aspects of modelling including static/ deterministic, micro-simulation, wide-area/ strategic modelling, pas- senger transport modelling as well as emerging areas as pedestrian and accessibility modelling. The NZMUGS Conference provides a significant opportunity for researchers, engineers, modellers and other practitioners in the transportation modelling fraternity to discuss current developments with macroscopic, static/ deterministic, micro- simulation, wide-area/ strategic modelling, passenger transport modelling as well as emerging areas such as pedestrian and accessibility modelling.

NZMUGS Conference 2011 - Wellington
August 29-30 2011
The 4th New Zealand Modelling User Group (NZMUGS) 2011 Conference is to be held in Wellington on the 29th -30th of August this year.
The conference will provide opportunities for practitioners to present and discuss current developments in the field.
We invite conference presentations in the following areas:
Presenters will be competing for the best presentation and best young (under 30) speaker awards.
The closing date for conference papers was the 3rd of June 2011.
The closing date for registration is the 12th of August.
Please note that with the World of Wearable Arts on and being pre RWC 2011 accommodation and flights may be limited so best to get in early.

The 2009 New Zealand Modelling User Group (NZMUGS ) Conference was held in Auckland on the 15th -16th October 2008.
NZMugs Conference 2008 - Wellington
October 30-31 2008
The 2008 New Zealand Modelling User Group (NZMUGS ) Conference was held in Wellington on the 30th -31st October 2008.
The inaugural NZMUGS Conference provided significant opportunity for researchers, engineers, modellers and other practitioners in the transportation modelling fraternity to discuss current developments with macroscopic, static/ deterministic, micro-simulation, wide-area/ strategic modelling, passenger transport modelling as well as emerging areas such as pedestrian and accessibility modelling.
Thursday morning began with the official formation of the New Zealand Modelling User Group and involved the appointment of a committee tasked with taking the group forward. This was followed with presentations and discussion sessions dealing with Strategic modelling. On Friday, the conference embraced micro-simulation modelling with examples of work undertaken, simulation standards, the peer review process with discussion sessions.
