IPENZ holds a clear mandate to represent the New Zealand engineering community.
Our Mission
To:
- uphold and promote the profession of engineering
- provide leadership and engineering advice to society on key issues
- meet the professional needs of Members
Progress indicators towards success are:
- recognition of IPENZ as the voice of the engineering profession, with our national and community views widely sought out and listened to by key decision makers, other external stakeholders and the general public
- annual net Membership growth of at least 270 Members outside the Student Membership class, including at least 100 within the competence-graded Membership classes
- a Membership age distribution that will ensure the future viability of the Institution, and general satisfaction indicated in surveys of Member views and reasons for Membership termination
- increasing use of and demonstrated confidence in our qualification and competence quality marks, including the associated disciplinary and educational procedures for ensuring professional standards of ethics and competence by our Members and registrants
- sufficient income from a range of sources, to provide reserves and income to fulfil and maintain work programmes without subscriptions rising at a rate above inflation
- maintenance of both sufficient staff capacity and capability to achieve the goals of the organisation
