Waikato - Bay of Plenty Branch of IPENZ

Welcome to the Waikato - Bay of Plenty Branch.  . The Branch covers a wide geographical area and extends from Hamilton in the west with 600 Members to Rotorua in the east with 120 Members and extends as far south as Taupo.

The Branch has a close relationship with the University of Waikato and fosters relationships with student engineers.  It also aims to fully support the wider engineering community by enhancing public awareness of engineering issues and fostering links between engineering and other professional groups in the region.

Branch activities include presentations and site visits; both provide opportunities for Members to meet socially and network.  Branch Newsletters and Reminders and the IPENZ Calendar keep Members informed of these events.

Members are encouraged to send in copy for the Branch newsletter . The deadline for the Bulletin is the 20th of the month for the following month.

Branch meetings are generally held on third Tuesday of the month at 17.30 for 18.00 at the Ruakura Campus Club, Hamilton.  Committee meetings are on the last Wednesday of the month at various venues

Neighbourhood Engineers
If you are in the Waikato – Bay of Plenty area and interested in becoming a neighbourhood engineer, working with schools, teachers and children to grow their interest in and knowledge of engineering and technology……

The Branch is also active in Futureintech, an IPENZ initiative funded by Government to promote careers in technology, engineering and science.  Graduates are recruited by Futureintech Facilitators to work alongside students, their teachers and careers advisers to support curriculum activity and provide first-hand examples of a career in technology, engineering or science.
