Welcome to the Tauranga Branch of IPENZ

Welcome to Tauranga Branch of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ)!

Tauranga Branch has approximately 300 Members, mainly from Tauranga and Mount Maunganui but also from surrounding areas. It holds approximately 10 meetings each year for Members: evening presentations (including the Pickering Lecture and the President’s Visit), site visits and weekend events.  These events provide opportunities for Members to meet socially and to expand their business networks.

Branch committee meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 5.30pm unless notified otherwise.

In October/ November the Branch holds the Annual General Meeting and elects a Committee to run the Branch for the next 12 months.

A subcommittee of five younger members runs engenerate and organises events for both younger Members and the wider membership.

Tauranga Branch raises awareness of engineering issues in the wider community, consolidates professional reputation in the industry and focuses on young engineer (engeneration) recruitment.

The Branch is also active in Futureintech, an IPENZ initiative funded by Government to promote careers in technology, engineering and science.  Graduates are recruited by Futureintech Facilitators to work alongside students, their teachers and careers advisers to support curriculum activity and provide first-hand examples of a career in technology, engineering or science.
