Welcome to the Auckland Branch of IPENZ

IPENZ (The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand) is the body which represents more than 9000 professional engineers, from a range of disciplines.

The Auckland Branch has 3900 Members in the four cities and three districts comprising the Auckland region.  It holds approximately 12 meetings per year for its Members; these may be evening presentations (including the Pickering Lecture and the President’s Visit), site visits or weekend events.  These events provide opportunities for Members to meet socially and to network.

Committee meetings are normally held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

In November each year the Branch holds an Annual General Meeting and elects a Committee to run the Branch for the next 12 months.

Younger Members, engenerate , are active in organising events both for themselves and for the wider membership.

The Branch is also active in Futureintech, an IPENZ initiative funded by Government to promote careers in technology, engineering and science.  Graduates are recruited by Futureintech Facilitators to work alongside students, their teachers and careers advisers to support curriculum activity and provide first-hand examples of a career in technology, engineering or science.

The Branch seeks to raise awareness of engineering issues in the wider community and collaborates with other organisations such as ACENZ and Ingenuim, with Technical Interest Groups and with local tertiary institutions as opportunities arise.
