Auckland Branch Awards

This list is not complete as the Branch is in the process of researching and reassessing some of the awards.

The Arthur Mead Environmental Award
This award is the premier award for IPENZ Auckland Branch and one of IPENZ’s most recognised awards. This prestigious award recognises significant contributions to preserving, conserving and improving the environment by engineers of the Auckland branch.  It honours Arthur Mead, Auckland City’s chief engineer for water supply from 1929 to 1953, who was one of the earliest proponents of environmental engineering in the Auckland region.  Arthur Mead is regarded as one of the architects of Auckland’s infrastructure.

The award goes annually to the best project to address sustainability, potential adverse environmental effects, waste management and community involvement.

Applications for the 2012 award close on 31 March 2012.  The Award is open to current Members of IPENZ Auckland Branch.
