A fourth local authority, Palmerston North City Council, has changed its water network connection arrangements as a result of a Commerce Commission project to ensure all local authorities are aware of, and comply with, the Commerce Act. Ceelon Plastics has developed special plastics for use in ship fendering systems on wharves and marinas. Each fendering system becomes a direct and permanent replacement for marine timber and other materials. NZ-made rotating screens commonly used in the treatment of sewage and industrial wastewater will pre-screen potable water for the city of Santiago in Chile. De-Bug Worldwide Ltd has developed a diesel fuel decontamination unit designed for the truck market. The unit eliminates breakdowns caused by contaminated fuel and is suitable for most diesel trucks, loaders and tractors. The unit works by pumping fuel over three ceramic magnets in series, disrupting the electronic activity of the microbial cells and causing them to die. Precision Technology Ltd of Wellington has developed a light pipe concept which enables light from a single source luminaire to be distributed uniformly over a linear distance of 13 metres.
