welcomes the opportunity of being the principal sponsor of a new design
excellence award named the `Courtaulds Coatings Design Award'.</DIV>

Although the Courtaulds name in New Zealand may not
be widely know, worldwide Courtaulds is a market leader with technology
strengths in coatings and sealants, performance films packaging, fibres
and chemicals. To give some indication of the group's size, Courtaulds
employs some 17000 people in 43 countries around the world.</p>
<p>In New Zealand, consultant and design engineers
involved in the design and construction of commercial, architectural and
industrial facilities utilise coatings to protect structural steel and
concrete substrates. In sponsoring this award for design excellence, Courtaulds
likewise recognises and fosters the same principle as evidenced through
developing unique coating technology such as their International Paint
Rapid Cure range of coatings.</p>
<p>In conjunction with IPENZ, Courtaulds welcomes
consultant and design engineers to forward details of suitable projects
for consideration by the judges. The award consists of a certificate and
fully paid attendance at an overseas conference. The prize is aimed at
increasing the winner's professional knowledge and expertise. For further
