CRoMiE Confidential Reporting on Matters in EngineeringConfidential Reporting on Matters in Engineering (CRoMiE) provides a totally independent, confidential (not anonymous) reporting system for all individuals employed in or associated with the provision of engineering work. The intention is to highlight any problems or threats to safety that occur in the provision of engineering activities, regardless of engineering discipline. The aim is to improve the practice of engineering by publicising lessons that have been learnt, generating feedback and influencing change. Outcomes could range from improving substandard reports and detail in drawings through to improvements in the building of steel and concrete structures, and in electrical and civil engineering work. The facility enables those involved in an engineering project to confidentially express concerns about engineering practices that are proving to be problematic. It is not intended that the facility used to make specific complaints against individual engineers, but rather to identify problematic areas that when addressed will improve the practice of engineering and the outcome of engineering projects. Of particular benefit will be reports on concerns that engineers and others have experienced which can be used for the benefit of others in the engineering sector. If you have had an experience that would be useful to communicate to others please use this facility and make a report. Reporters' identities are kept confidential. Personal details are not retained and are returned to the reporter on closure of their report. The information provided is made available in a de-identified form to those who can take action to remedy the problem. Important information gained through reports is made available as widely as possible, after being de-identified, principally through IPENZ publications. |
