Name of Event:
Project Management by Distance Learning

Description:

Learn the theory, develop the skills and apply the method and the tools. If you are involved in or are responsible for managing or participating in projects which deliver outcomes for organisations you will benefit from this distance learning course. Project management is an essential skill to improve delivery of project-based outputs and client-focused outcomes.
IPENZ and Programme Project Management Ltd (a registered education provider with the Project Management Institute) are collaborating to offer this distance learning course which involves approximately 125 hours of course study and assignment work. This equates to an average of 5 hours per week over a six-month period with one assignment completed per month.
The CAPM credential
The CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) credential will identify you as someone with a demonstrated understanding of the fundamental knowledge, processes and terminology of project management. It is one of the best available qualifications for members of project teams and/or those who aspire to become professional project managers. To download a copy of the PMI’s CAPM handbook, go to: http://www.pmi.org/CareerDevelopment/Pages/Obtaining-Credential.aspx

Because we are a Registered Education Provider with the PMI, the PPM Certificate in Project Management that you will be awarded on successful completion of our distance learning course will directly qualify you to sit the examination for PMI’s CAPM credential. Our course will give you more than enough contact hours to meet the PMI’s requirements for formal project management education.

The PMP credential
The PMP (Project Management Professional) credential is the world’s most widely recognised qualification in the field of project management. More than 25,000 professionals from all industry sectors and almost every area of endeavour have gained this credential. For this reason it is a highly sought-after status for practising project managers, and increasingly it is either desired or required for many project management positions.

As with the CAPM credential, our course will give you all of the contact hours you need to satisfy the PMI’s project management educational requirements for sitting the PMP examination. However, you will also need to meet additional requirements for practical experience in managing projects. To download a copy of the PMI’s PMP handbook, go to: http://www.pmi.org/CareerDevelopment/Pages/Obtaining-Credential.aspx
Certificate of Achievement
Participants successfully completing the course will be issued with a Certificate of Achievement which will show performance for the whole course as either a Pass, or a Pass with Distinction. Participants will also gain up to 60 PMI professional development units, which is equal to the annual requirement of the Project Management Institute for maintaining PMP (Project Management Professional) status. For those wishing to obtain PMP status, this course is recognised by the Project Management Institute as providing 125 contact hours – more than enough to meet the contact hours requirements of the Institute for sitting the PMP examination.
