News | Archives Journalists who have written articles improving the publics understanding of the role of engineering in society could win a cash prize of $5,000. The IPENZ Foundation Award for Excellence in Engineering Journalism will be awarded at the 2005 inaugural New Zealand Engineering Excellence Awards, which will become an annual event. Entries close 5pm Friday 1 July 2005. The IPENZ Foundation Award for Excellence in Engineering Journalism (sponsored by the IPENZ Foundation) is awarded to the journalist/media writer who has most improved the public understanding of the role of engineering in society through positive, fair and accurate writing. The Award is open to writers for the print media, radio and television, who meet the following criteria:
