Undergraduate engineers from engineering schools across New Zealand,
plus two representatives from the Canada Federation of Engineering Students,
will descend on Wellington this weekend to compete in the second annual
Student Engineers National Symposium (SENS’05).
This will be held in Wellington from Friday, 8 July until Monday, 11 July
with the Engineers Games events being held at Wellington High School on
Sunday 10th July.
Events include a rugby game between the North and South Engineering Schools
to compete for the Brockett Cup as well as a range of team competitions
testing problem-solving and mind and body skills. The overall winning
team will be awarded the Lion Breweries Engineers Games Trophy.
Last year both the Brockett Cup and Lion Breweries Engineers Games Trophy
were won by Team Ensoc from The University of Canterbury
“IPENZ is excited to be associated with the event. The engineering
students of today will be instrumental in planning and developing the
infrastructure of tomorrow” says the Institution of Professional
Engineers (IPENZ) President Roly Frost.
