Gavan Jackson elected Fellow of IPENZ
March 2005
Gavan Jackson, Managing Director Electrix Ltd, was elected a Fellow of
The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) for his
contribution to the advancement of technological education; specifically
recognising his contributions to development of the Electricity Supply
Industry Training Organisation.
He has brought significant strategic, organizational, finance and governance
skills to the Directorship of the ESITO, and within his own company has
implemented training and professional development strategies in an exemplary
fashion. He is an excellent business engineer and has contributed heavily
to the Auckland Division of the NZ Institute of Management, including
three years as its President.
Electrix is one of Australasia’s leading electrical construction
and maintenance companies in the transmission, distribution, generation,
industrial and commercial sectors.
“Becoming a Fellow is an honour bestowed by ones professional peers
on high-achievers who have made a difference to the engineering profession.
More often than not a Fellows contribution to the profession also benefits
New Zealand as a whole, as the work of engineers’ impacts on New
Zealand society,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.
Gavan was presented with his Fellowship at the IPENZ Awards Dinner held
at Auckland’s Ellerslie Convention Centre, on Thursday, 17 March
2005.
