Monday, 28 March 2004

Marshall Clark, HVDC and AC Stations Team Leader for Transpower New Zealand Ltd will be elected a Fellow of The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) for his contribution to the advancement of technological education; specifically recognising his efforts in establishing programmes to lift recruitment into engineering careers.

Marshall has led a major graduate engineer recruitment programmefor Transpower, including changing the views of engineering students about the rewards of careers in the power industry.

“Becoming a Fellow is an honour bestowed by ones professional peers on high-achievers who have made a difference to the engineering profession. More often than not a Fellows contribution to the profession also benefits New Zealand as a whole, as the work of engineers’ impacts on New Zealand society,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.
