John Bridgeman elected Fellow of IPENZ
Monday, 28 March 2004

John Bridgman, Industry Director – Transportation, Maunsell Ltd, was elected a Fellow of The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) for his contribution to the advancement of engineering practice; specifically recognising his contributions to methodologies for transport project cost estimation.

As well as his major role in the development of technical procedures for estimating costs on major highway projects he has also taken a leading role in developing improved conditions of engagement for major transport projects.

The various parties affected by the latter have different objectives, and the reaching of agreement attests to his leadership skills. John has contributed back to the profession through membership of the ACENZ Board for several years, where he is responsible for the Transportation portfolio.

“Becoming a Fellow is an honour bestowed by ones professional peers on high-achievers who have made a difference to the engineering profession. More often than not a Fellows contribution to the profession also benefits New Zealand as a whole, as the work of engineers’ impacts on New Zealand society,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.

John was presented with his Fellowship at the IPENZ Awards Dinner held at Auckland’s Ellerslie Convention Centre, on Thursday, 17 March 2005.
