2005 IPENZ Fellows
March 2004

List of Fellows and citations

Thirty seven new Fellows were elected by The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) for their contributions to the engineering profession.

The Fellows were honoured at an awards dinner held in conjunction with the IPENZ convention, sponsored by Maunsell , at Auckland's Ellerslie Convention Centre.

The “Engineers as Leaders” theme at the IPENZ Convention 2005, encouraged engineers to take more of a leadership role developing New Zealand’s economy and national wealth.

Sessions included Engineering the Built Environment profiling how engineers have approached the task of building the necessary infrastructure to meet the needs of the community, plus the latest developments on the subject of Building and Construction, Emerging Technologies and Engineering Materials.

Also included in the convention line-up was Project Showcase - an opportunity for Members to share their experiences on engineering projects they recently worked on.

“Becoming a Fellow is an honour bestowed by ones professional peers on high-achievers who have made a difference to the engineering profession. More often than not a Fellows contribution to the profession also benefits New Zealand as a whole, as the work of engineers’ impacts on New Zealand society,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.
