David Adamson elected Fellow of IPENZ
Friday, 26 March 2004

David Adamson, Chief Executive of the Southland District Council, was elected a Fellow of The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) for his contribution to leadership in the profession of engineering; specifically recognising his contribution to development of the Association of Local Government Engineering New Zealand (Ingenium).

In parallel to an outstanding career of achievement as an engineer and then senior manager in local government, specialising in water and waste water utilities, David has demonstrated his wider perspective and leadership capability on numerous occasions through long standing involvement with public asset engineering. He has represented the local government sector on many national working parties, and has been a major contributor to the repositioning of Ingenium as a leadership organisation for public asset engineering and management.

“Receiving a Fellowship carries substantial prestige. It is not a reward for long service or for advancement in seniority with one’s employer, rather it is recognition by IPENZ of the contribution of outstanding individuals,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.

David was presented with his Fellowship at the IPENZ Awards Dinner held in Christchurch at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, on Thursday, 25 March 2004.
