Tony Francis elected Fellow of IPENZ
Friday, 26 March 2004

Tony Francis, Partner Francis and Cambridge Ltd, was elected a Fellow of The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) for his contribution to the development of the Institution; specifically recognising his contribution to improving traffic safety and his long service with the Transportation Technical Group.

Tony has played an important role in the development and implementation of systems for improving road safety. He takes a holistic view and thus contributes to the wider recognition and resolution of road safety problems in the community. His service to the Transportation group has been exemplary over more than two decades.

“Receiving a Fellowship carries substantial prestige. It is not a reward for long service or for advancement in seniority with one’s employer, rather it is recognition by IPENZ of the contribution of outstanding individuals,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.

Tony will be presented with his Fellowship at the Canterbury Branch Meeting at Canterbury University, School of Engineering, Lecture Theatre E5.

IPENZ Awards Dinner held in Christchurch at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, on Thursday, 25 March 2004.
