| Media Release Dr Murray Milner - 2004 Supreme Technical Award Dr Murray Milner, a Fellow of the Institution, is the Chief Technology Officer with Telecom New Zealand, has won the Information and Communication Technology category of the 2004 IPENZ Supreme Technical Awards for Engineering Achievers, sponsored by Opus International Consultants. With over thirty years of experience in the telecommunications industry, his role is to provide expert advice to senior executives on critical technology developments. Murray has represented his profession in various public forums concerned with Public Good Science funding and the Information Technology Advisory Group and has given presentations to audiences including government, investment analysts, technical forums, conferences and standards bodies on telecommunications technology. The Information and Communication Technology category includes engineering, design and manufacture of technologies associated with the generation and transmission of information. It includes telecommunication and radio engineering. It covers sectors such as radio and TV, broad-band data transmission and manufactured products that make use of information, such as GPS. There are eight categories of the Supreme Technical awards which were
presented at the Awards Dinner, during the IPENZ Convention at the Hotel
