Johm Little elected Fellow of IPENZ
Friday, 26 March 2004

John Little, Principal J H Little and Associates was elected a Fellow of The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) for his contribution to the advancement of engineering practice; specifically recognising his substantial input into the development of Standards.

John has had a major role in a number of Standards Committees, especially in the area of application of steel in structures. He is a true expert in use of steel and the use of timber as a structural material, and has contributed to a number of technical publications and seminars where he has shared his knowledge. His knowledge and standards work extends to other materials, including plywood and fibrous plaster. He has been a tireless professional over several decades, performing innovative and effective engineering design work, and then sharing his knowledge with others.

“Receiving a Fellowship carries substantial prestige. It is not a reward for long service or for advancement in seniority with one’s employer, rather it is recognition by IPENZ of the contribution of outstanding individuals,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.

John was presented with his Fellowship at the IPENZ Awards Dinner held in Christchurch at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, on Thursday, 25 March 2004.
