Greg Lowe elected Fellow of IPENZ
Friday, 26 March 2004
Greg Lowe was elected a Fellow of The Institution of Professional Engineers
New Zealand (IPENZ) for his contribution to the development of the Institution;
specifically recognising his leadership in bringing about constructive
change.
Greg has recently moved to the Beca group of companies from his role
as General Manager Performance Solutions Group, at Infinity Solutions
Ltd.
As a Wellington Branch Chair, as a Board member and the first Chair of
the Competence Assessment Board he has contributed selflessly to the greater
good of the Institution. He led the Competence Assessment Board during
the testing times of 2002 when systems governing the new concept of the
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) had to be devised and implemented.
He has demonstrated clear strategic ability in all the roles he has undertaken
for IPENZ. In earlier days he forged links between the Navy and IPENZ,
and demonstrated strong leadership in respect of the NZ involvement in
the Anzac frigates project.
“Receiving a Fellowship carries substantial prestige. It is not
a reward for long service or for advancement in seniority with one’s
employer, rather it is recognition by IPENZ of the contribution of outstanding
individuals,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.
Paul was presented with his Fellowship at the IPENZ Awards Dinner held
in Christchurch at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, on Thursday, 25 March 2004.
