Graeme Young elected Fellow of IPENZ
Friday, 26 March 2004

That Wanganui has excellent sporting facilities for its size is a tribute to the work of people like Graeme Young, MWH New Zealand, who was elected a Fellow of The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) for his contribution to the application of engineering or technology in the community; specifically recognising his contribution to community projects in Wanganui.

Graeme has taken a leading role in projects to develop local and regional sporting facilities and used his engineering knowledge to ensure that the funding available and desires of the community can be reconciled in a viable manner. Graeme has also served on the IPENZ Branch Committee and as an ACENZ area representative.

“Receiving a Fellowship carries substantial prestige. It is not a reward for long service or for advancement in seniority with one’s employer, rather it is recognition by IPENZ of the contribution of outstanding individuals,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.

Graeme was presented with his Fellowship at the IPENZ Awards Dinner held in Christchurch at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, on Thursday, 25 March 2004.
