| Media Release Richard Downs-Honey - 2004 Supreme Technical Award Richard Downs-Honey, a Fellow of the Institution and Managing Director of High Modulus, has won the Manufacturing and Mechanical category of the 2004 IPENZ Supreme Technical Awards for Engineering Achievers, sponsored by Opus International Consultants. Richard is a pioneer in the field of marine composites and has represented his profession on numerous boards and associations including the New Zealand Marine Centre of Excellence. In addition to the presentation of technical papers at international composites conferences and boat building symposia, Richard also has an active advisory role in the research activities for Industrial Research Limited and the University of Auckland. The Manufacturing and Mechanical category includes all forms of mechanical and manufacturing-based engineering such as the design, manufacture and operation of plant and equipment, both static and mobile. There are eight categories of the Supreme Technical awards which were presented at the Awards Dinner, during the IPENZ Convention at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Christchurch on March 25.
