Deane McNulty elected Fellow of IPENZ
Friday, 26 March 2004

Deane McNulty, Principal McNulty Engineering Management Ltd, was elected a Fellow of The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) for his contribution to development of the Institution; specifically recognising his leadership in representing the needs of the provincial practising engineer.

Deane has long been involved in Branch activities in Otago and on the West Coast, and is in his second term on the IPENZ Board, always willing to contribute. Deane has served on taskforces of the Board set up to look into a variety of issues, and on every occasion has made excellent strategic contributions. He has ensured that the perspective of professional engineers operating in relative isolation is fully considered. In his earlier Branch activities he showed how even a small Branch with a strong local network can be highly influential in the local community.

“Receiving a Fellowship carries substantial prestige. It is not a reward for long service or for advancement in seniority with one’s employer, rather it is recognition by IPENZ of the contribution of outstanding individuals,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.

Deane was presented with his Fellowship at the IPENZ Awards Dinner held in Christchurch at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, on Thursday, 25 March 2004.
