Jonnette Adams wins IPENZ Communication Award
Friday, 26 March 2004

Jonnette Adams, Transit New Zealand project manager, is The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) winner of the 2004 Communications Award for her outstanding achievement in communicating the Kaitoke to Te Marua realignment work of engineers to the media and the public. This award is sponsored by Vector Limited.

Jonnette received her award at the IPENZ Awards Dinner, during the IPENZ Convention at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Christchurch on Thursday, March 25.

Jonnette is the Transit New Zealand project manager of the Kaitoke to Te Marua realignment, a major earthworks project involving building 5.5km of new highway over the Kaitoke Hill, north of Upper Hutt. Through the use of a comprehensive ‘hands on’ communications strategy including presentations and site visits, Jonnette significantly raised awareness of the importance of the project, and generated widespread support from the community and road users.
