Andrew Collow elected Fellow of IPENZ
Friday, 26 March 2004

Andrew Collow, Project Director, Beca Carter Hollings and Ferner Ltd, was elected a Fellow of The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) for his contribution to the development of the Institution; specifically recognising his longstanding commitment to rigorous competence assessment.

Andrew has been a regional moderator of the professional review process for many years, and a member of the Competence Assessment Board since its inception. He is an unsung hero, committing many hours to ensure that the competence assessments IPENZ performs are rigorous, fair and consistently moderated. His service is wider – he has served as an ACENZ area representative and in other learned society roles. These activities have been conducted in parallel with a highly successful engineering career, including a major role in development of the Westpac Stadium in Wellington.

“Receiving a Fellowship carries substantial prestige. It is not a reward for long service or for advancement in seniority with one’s employer, rather it is recognition by IPENZ of the contribution of outstanding individuals,” said IPENZ Chief Executive, Andrew Cleland.

Andrew was presented with his Fellowship at the IPENZ Awards Dinner held in Christchurch at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, on Thursday, 25 March 2004.
