Applying for Graduate Membership

Graduate Members (GIPENZ)
Graduate membership recognises and supports an individual’s commitment to:

  • the engineering profession
  • professional development
  • the IPENZ Code of Ethics.

Graduate Members hold tertiary engineering qualifications that can be benchmarked internationally - typically either a four year degree Bachelor of Engineering, three year Bachelor of Engineering Technology or two year Engineering Diploma.

It provides a framework through which IPENZ can support a graduate’s professional formation and encourages progress to the different competence based membership classes and registers.

Provisional Graduate Membership available between 1 November and 30 June.

Are you are expecting to complete your engineering studies at the end of this year? Don’t yet have evidence of your eligibility to graduate? Why not smooth the transition to Graduate Membership by becoming a provisional Graduate Member?

Provisional Graduate Membership is free but will lapse if you do not transfer to full Graduate Membership by 30 June following completion of your studies.

Application Form

Benefits of provisional Graduate Membership include the following:

  • Access to graduate support services including the IPENZ online recording tools
  • Access to a full range of IPENZ Publications
  • Opportunity to network through IPENZ branch and engenerate – IPENZ Young Professionals activities
  • Opportunity of professional development through specialist courses

Apply now: applications for provisional Graduate Membership close on 31 December

Please note: as a provisional Graduate Member you are not eligible to vote in the IPENZ governing Board elections or use the post nominal GIPENZ.
