Benefits of Graduate Membership

Graduate Members are supported as they work towards achieving one of the following competence-based membership classes and/or registers:

• Professional Membership (MIPENZ), Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and International Professional Engineer IntPE(NZ) for graduates who hold a four year IPENZ recognised engineering degree
• Technical Membership (TIPENZ) for graduates who hold a three year IPENZ recognised engineering technology degree 
• Associate Membership (AIPENZ)for graduates who hold a 2 year IPENZ recognised engineering diploma or certificate qualification

Developing competence is a challenging process.  It takes time, dedication, support and hard work.  IPENZ provides Graduate Members with a tailored competence development programme that includes:

• finding a mentor for graduates who work in an organisation where there are no Professional Members of IPENZ
• access to online recording tools for recording work history and responsibility, mentoring activities and continuing professional development
• evaluating work history records to provide feedback on development
