Overview

IPENZ administers current competence registers for professional engineers, engineering technologists and engineering technicians.   Registration on a current competence register provides employers, regulators and purchasers of engineering services with an independent assessment of the engineer’s current competence to do engineering work at a particular level of complexity.

Engineers can join IPENZ as a Professional, Technical or Associate Member and be registered on a relevant current-competence register. Applicants wanting both need only undertake a single assessment.
