Angus Slater

Gus Slater is a native of Perth in Western Australia. He is a broadcasting and media specialist and recently retired from the position of Director of Engineering and Technical Operations for TV Channel 9. He holds qualifications in Electronic Engineering and Management Studies and is a keen student of broadcasting history. In 2006 the Australian broadcasting industry presented Gus with The Paul Marlan Award for his chairmanship of the industry study group investigating audio-loudness. His technical leadership in dealing with the translation of this psychoacoustic matter into technical standards has been recognised within the Australian commercial television broadcasting industry, by national broadcasters, equipment manufacturers, the sound production sector and in international standardisation forums.
