Nigel Ridgway

Nigel graduated from the Whyalla Institute of Technology and the BHP traineeship system with a degree in mechanical engineering 1988.

After graduating Nigel moved to WMC Olympic Dam employed as the Mill Engineer where he managed maintenance of the Mill and Hydromet plants for 3 years.

Since then Nigel has been employed by Weir Minerals a manufacturer of mineral processing equipment for the mining industry for the last 15 years located in Adelaide , then Perth, and is responsible for the WA business. He has an interest in fluid mechanics,  tribology and mill circuit pump design.

He was a member of the SA Divisions’ Engineering Heritage Branch for several years and survived many plaquings including the Trans Australia Railway, Barossa Dam and River Murray systems.

Nigel is a Fellow member of Engineers Australia.
