Vijay Badhwar


Vijay Badhwar is the Principal Structural Engineer in Government Architect's Office, NSW Department of Commerce. He has more than 37 years' design experience in both private and public sector.

Vijay has extensive experience in the design of public buildings and specialises in carrying out condition surveys of heritage structures. He is well-versed with sensitive handling of heritage structures in considering make-safe options. Vijay was involved in stabilising several prominent public buildings damaged by the Newcastle earthquake of December 1989.

Some of Vijay's recent heritage projects include: Eveleigh Rail Yards, Sydney University Quadrangle Earthquake Strengthening, Government House Maintenance Programme, St Mary's Cathedral Spires (Winner Engineering Excellence Award) and Chief Secretary's Building.
